Students and parents from many schools with the initials S.H.S. were shaken when they saw a social media post on Wednesday. The post mentioned bringing a gun to school and shooting the day following the Facebook post. The post was shared through both Facebook and Instagram, causing fear to students and parents all over the United States.
Local Inland Empire Schools including some in Fontana and Hesperia investigated the incident. “The threat didn’t name any specific school in our region, however, we take any threat seriously,” said Fontana Police officials. “The Fontana Unified School Police Department conducted an investigation and determined the threat was not credible.”
Despite the validity of the threat being questioned, and the threat is confirmed to be directed to an undisclosed Ohio school, the schools are increasing patrol around schools and many parents have received calls. Still, as a result of recent school violence, many parents are choosing to keep their children home for the remainder of the week.
