VICTORVILLE, Calif. – A second elderly victim came forward to report that he also had been assaulted by the suspect who assaulted a 79-year-old man in the Costco parking lot.
The 72-year-old male victim reported that he was assaulted on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, loading his items into a car near 7th Street and La Paz Drive. Victorville area transient, Richard Rant Leonard, 52, approached the man and hit him causing facial injuries before fleeing on foot.
Leonard is already in custody for the Thursday, March 28, 2019, incident where he attacked a 79-year-old man walking through the Costco parking lot to the bus stop. The man sustained major injuries including a broken leg as a result of the attack. He will be booked on additional charges of battery with serious injury and harming an elderly/dependent adult.
