Upon arrival, they located three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One was dead on arrival, two others were transported to the hospital where one died as a result of his injuries. Juan Antonio Bartolo and Domingo Esteban were later identified as the deceased men.
No suspects were located or arrested that day, but through continuous investigation, Robbery-Homicide and Gang Intelligence Units were able to identify three people as the suspects. Several law enforcement agencies worked in conjunction with the Riverside Police Department on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, to apprehend the suspects involved in the double murder and attempted 2015 murder.
Search warrants were executed at six of the locations in Riverside and San Bernardino counties targeting members of Eastside Neighborhood gang. As officers were attempting to serve an arrest warrant in Fresno County the suspect shot at officers, leading to an officer-involved shooting which killed the suspect, Riverside Police officials said.
Of those arrested was Antoine Deshawn James, 39, who was arrested in Bakersfield and Abiance Linece Turner, 25, who was arrested in San Diego County. Both James and Turner were booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in the City of Riverside. Deputies surrounded the Coalinga, CA home where Anthony Lovell Eddington II, 24, was located and made an announcement for those inside the home to come out and surrender. A man, later identified as Eddington exited the house with a gun and began shooting at the deputies. A SWAT Team member shot back, striking and killing the man.
Search warrants were then served at six other locations in Riverside, Moreno Valley, and Apple Valley which resulted in the recovery 11 firearms, numerous rounds of ammunition, and evidence of gang affiliation. During those searches, the arrests of two additional people were made. T.W. Smith, 34 of Apple Valley was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for weapons charges. Richard Stuckey, 30, of Riverside was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for weapons and parole violations.
