RIALTO – Intoxication is believed to be a factor in a multi-vehicle collision that cause severe injuries to one child and multiple other injuries on Wednesday night.
At around 8:52 p.m. A silver Toyota Camry became disabled in the center median of the eastbound 210 Freeway just east of Riverside Avenue. A silver Honda Accord stopped behind the Toyota in the center median. As the two vehicles parked in the median, a white Infiniti Q45 drove into the center median crashing into the back of the Honda. The force of the collision pushed the Honda forward into the Toyota. The collision caused injuries to the occupants inside the Honda.
One of the occupants, a 12 year old boy who was inside the Honda sustained major injuries as a result of the crash. He was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Two other occupants were transported to local hospitals for minor to moderate non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Infiniti, local hospital for treatment and was subsequently arrested for driving Under the Influence causing bodily injury.
