RIVERSIDE – Three people were critically injured and one suffered moderate injuries as a result of a Tuesday night collision. Just after 8:00 p.m. the Riverside City Fire Department was dispatched to a major damage multi-vehicle traffic collision near the 1st Street and Main Street intersection.
One patient was trapped requiring extrication. Fire department officials at the scene called for a multi-casualty incident (MCI) response. AMR responded with four ambulances, and Riverside City Fire Department responded with a total of 17 firefighters. Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) responded to assess an electrical box that was damaged in the collision. All four patients were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
