APPLE VALLEY – A 40-year-old Apple Valley woman was arrested for child abuse after deputies were called to a home in the 15900 block of Rancherias Road in the Town of Apple Valley.
At around 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017, a child walked over to a neighboring home and reported abuse The victim, who had significant injuries told the resident that she was abused by Cheryl Moreno, 40. A search warrant was served on Moreno’s home. During the search, deputies and detectives from the Apple Valley Station were able to sustain evidence supporting the allegations.
Children’s and Family Services was called to the home and took custody of the victim and several other juveniles in the home.Moreno was arrested for P.C. 273A(A) – Willful cruelty to a child and was booked into High Desert Detention Center with bail set at $100,000.
