YERMO, Ca. – A 34-year-old Victorville man lost his life after a possible DUI traffic collision in Yermo on Sunday evening.
At around 6:17 p.m. the Barstow area CHP responded to the single-vehicle traffic collision on Calico Boulevard, south of Mule Canyon Road. When they arrived they located a 1991 Jeep Cherokee with major damage and inside the driver, Justin Canada of Victorville with major injuries. Canada was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
Two others, Canada’s passengers, a 24-year-old front passenger and the 19-year-old female right rear passenger sustained minor injuries. The passengers were transported to Barstow Community Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the collision but the collision remains under investigation at this time. Anyone with information should contact the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office at 760-255-5900.
