UTICA, Ny. – Photos showing the results of the brutal murder of a 17-year-old girl spread all over social media on Sunday.
The New York girl has thousands of Instagram followers had photos of her posted with a slit across her neck which nearly decapitated her. The injuries were caused by none other than her boyfriend, 21-year-old Brandon Clark, of Cicero, New York, around an hour away from her. Bianca Devins was only 17 years old when she met Clark, only two months ago. Police said that they met on Instagram before meeting in person and most communication between the two was mainly Instagram.
Devins was popular on social media, but also had just graduated from high school and planned to attend college to obtain a degree in Psychology. Her family said that they had met Clark on multiple occasions and felt as though they knew him.
Police said that on Sunday, July 14, 2019, at around 7:20 a.m. they began receiving calls reporting a social media post where Clark said he killed his girlfriend and was going to kill himself. Clark called 911 and also made incriminating statements, authorities said in a news release. Using the call they were able to determine that the call was coming from a wooded area in Utica.
When police arrived to the location, they walked toward an SUV towards the property. As they walked closer they found Clark lying on the ground stabbing himself in his neck with a knife. Clark moved himself over, onto a tarp and began taking photos of himself, police said. Hair was seen coming out from under the tarp by police, which was determined to be Bianca Devins.
Devins had major lacerations to her neck and was pronounced deceased by emergency responders. Clark was rushed to the hospital with major injuries. The hospital performed emergency surgery and he is expected to survive.
Authorities said that he was charged on Monday with second-degree murder. Police believe that during a night out, the couple argued, details of the argument were unclear but they returned to Utica at around 10:00 p.m. It is believed that the two went to the location of the incident on Sunday morning where the fight escalated and Clark used a large knife to kill Devins.
Clark took photos and posted them to the social media site, “Discord”. Police confirmed that the social media photos were authentic and they have requested that they are removed.
