APPLE VALLEY – A 16-year-old who was just recently released from Juvenile Hall on probation was arrested for an Apple Valley burglary on Tuesday afternoon.
At around 12:45 p.m. deputies from the Apple Valley station responded to the 12000 block of Chief Joseph Road reference reports of a suspicious male removing a window screen from a home. Deputies responded, arriving within approximately 4 minutes of the initial report. When they arrived they found an open window and a suspect fleeing from the home through a nearby alley. Deputies pursued and were able to take the suspect, who was recently released from Juvenile Hall on probation for Burglary and Weapons charges. One of the responding deputies noticed that the suspect description matched the description given by witnesses in other recent burglaries.
Authorities said that evidence, including stolen property linking the suspect to several other burglaries in the Town of Apple Valley. One of the incidents was an attempt to enter an occupied home and the other involved the theft of a firearm. The teen suspect was arrested and was booked into Juvenile Hall for Burglary and Probation Violation.
