TEMECULA – A 70-year-old man who retired from being piano teacher and tutor for young children was arrested on Tuesday for the lewd acts on a 7-year-old girl.
The Temecula Police Department received the report of possible lewd acts on a small child in the 44000 block of Cabo Street on February 17, 2018, at around 9:00 p.m.They learned that William Hammond, who was a Menifee resident, was a sex offender. Ten days later after receiving more information, Hammond was arrested on Tuesday morning for lewd acts on the child. A search warrant was served at his home in the 26000 block of Mehaffey Street in Menifee.
Hammond was booked into jail for Lewd Acts Against a Minor and having a previous conviction of a violent felony.
