WINCHESTER – A woman was found dead and a man was found lying nearby injured on the roadway in an unincorporated area of Winchester on Saturday, March 31, 2018.
Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Southwest Station deputies responded to a frantic 911 call at around 3:42 a.m. The call was categorized as an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call in the area of Winchester Road and Pourroy Road. Deputies arrived to find the two, the woman dead and the man with significant injuries. The man, later identified as Jeffrey Kruger, 48, of Hemet, was rushed to the hospital for treatment of his injuries and was subsequently arrested on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, for murder.
Kruger was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta for the murder of the woman, identified as Deborah Warner, 47, of Temecula. The investigation which was assumed by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit.
