TEMECULA, Calif. – If you see a police K9 on a motorcycle don’t be surprised because K9 Dayka has completed her motor officer training. “Originally Dayka passed motor training and would be alone on the bike, but her lack of thumbs made it too difficult to manipulate the controls,”Temecula Police officials said.
Temecula Police Department came up with the idea in order to get the K9 to the scene faster when there is traffic. In addition, the K9 she can smell passing vehicles for hidden narcotics. Dayka will be riding on a newly designed canine rack.
“In emergency operations, a release button has been installed that allows the K9 to be deployed from the motorcycle without the rider having to dismount!”
Happy April Fools Day!
