Three Hesperia Establishments Cited for Serving Alcohol to a Minor Decoy

HESPERIA, Calif. – Three Hesperia establishments that sell alcoholic beverages as part of their business were caught selling alcohol to a minor decoy on Thursday.

The operation designed to reduce youth access to alcoholic beverages took place from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.  The operation uses a minor decoy, who is under 21-years-old who attempts to purchase alcoholic beverages. While attempting to make these purchases, undercover officers with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department supervise the decoy.

During the operation, the decoy went to 14 different bars, restaurants, and liquor stores. Three of the fourteen sold to the minor decoy. The three businesses were cited and will face criminal actions. In addition, administrative actions may be taken through the Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC).
