ONTARIO, Ca. – Over $10,000 of band equipment stolen from Ontario High School has been recovered and three arrests have been made.
After review of hours of surveillance footage, the school resource officer he saw two suspects and a suspect vehicle. One suspect was identified as Mark Souza, 42, who was contacted at his home in Ontario. Souza ran from police when they arrived and was apprehended by a police K9. Once arrested, he was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries resulting from the apprehension.
Two other suspects were arrested in connection with the theft and were identified as 50-year-old Jurupa Valley resident Jeanne Lynne Zieffler and Rollin Roy Phillips, 42, of Ontario. All three were charged with burglary and were booked at the West Valley Detention Center.
The music equipment was recovered from Souza’s home in the 700 block of West Philadelphia Street and returned to Ontario High School. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Ontario Police Department at 909-986-6711 or Detective Tedesco at 909-408-1871.
