VICTORVILLE – At around 2:26 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30,2016, deputies from the Victorville Station responded to the report of a man and woman in possession of weapons at Sixth Street Prep School. When they arrived to the school located at 15478 6th Street they found 47-year-old Fabian Molinar and 28-year-old Heather Cook still at the school.
“The two subjects were carrying backpacks and attached to the backpacks were an ax and a machete,” said Victorville Sheriff’s Station spokeswoman, Mara Rodriguez. The two, both listed as transients, told deputies that they were walking from their camp to the Food 4 Less and stopped at the school for water, Rodriguez said.
Eric Camarena, the spokesman for the Victor Elementary School District, told a 24/7 Headline News reporter that the incident was, “ down the street from Sixth Street Prep”. He also said the school was not placed on lockdown because “at no time were students or the campus threatened in any way.”
The ax and machete were confiscated as evidence. Both Molinar and Cook were booked at the High Desert Detention Center for possession of a weapon at a school. Inmate records indicate that the pair was cited and released with no appearances scheduled at this time.
