MORENO VALLEY – Officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department made contact with suspects advertising illegal fireworks for sale over social media on Thursday.
Authorities said that the operation to buy the illegal fireworks was conducted in the City of Moreno Valley in an effort to cut down on the illegal use of fireworks over the New Year’s weekend.
Contact was made with two suspects, and deals to purchase were made with the seller. Once the purchase was made the suspects were arrested by uniformed Moreno Valley Police officers. Raul Rosas of Perris and Sean Romero of Moreno Valley were issued citations for possessing illegal fireworks and were subsequently released.
