TWENTYNINE PALMS – A Twentynine Palms man and woman were arrested after their 4-month-old son was determined to be suffering from malnutrition and broken bones officials said.
On July 20th at around 7:00 p.m. emergency personnel responded to a home in the 6300 block of Smoke Tree Avenue in Twentynine Palms reference an unresponsive baby.
The baby was quickly rushed to a Twentynine Palms Naval Hospital and was subsequently transferred to Loma Linda. During his stay at Loma Linda he was seen by a Forensic Pediatrician, who found the broken bones and that he was extremely malnourished.
Over a month later, on August 23rd, 20-year-old Alec Bailey, and 24-year-old Autumn Raven Evers were arrested for willful cruelty to a child and the failure to provide. Both were booked into the Morongo Valley Jail, where they are being held each on $100,000 bail. They are scheduled for arraignment today at the Morongo Basin Superior Court.
