FONTANA – Details remain unclear on Friday night about the cause of death for two family members and the third in critical condition authorities said.
On Friday afternoon at around 1:00 p.m. Fontana police and emergency medical personnel responded to the 17400 block of Arrowhead Boulevard regarding the report of several unresponsive family members at the home.
The person in critical condition was rushed to a local hospital. “Officers quickly accessed the scene and believed the three subjects had possibly been exposed to fentanyl,” Fontana Police officials said in a written statement. “The house was evacuated and hazmat was contacted.” Fentanyl is a narcotic used as a high-strength pain reliever. High doses can cause respiratory distress and/or death.
