HESPERIA – Two Hesperia men were arrested after shooting at the windows of vehicles, both occupied and unoccupied authorities said.
The crime spree began on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at around 9:20 p.m. when a victim called to report that his window was broken out in the area of Main Street and Escondido Avenue in the City of Hesperia. The investigation led to the finding that the window was broken out by a BB gun. No suspects were located that day, but during the week following, the Hesperia Station deputies received several more calls reporting that their vehicle windows were broken. Deputies estimate the damage to be around $10,000. At least one witness believed that the suspect vehicle was a blue PT Cruiser, and based on the information provided, deputies were able to locate the PT Cruiser and the registered owner.
Joseph Alexander Bautistalares, 18, and Bradley Connor Sproule, 19, both of Hesperia were identified as possible suspects in the vandalism spree. On November 17, 2016, Bautistalares was located at his home in the 15000 block of Mission Street in the City of Hesperia. At his home deputies located a BB gun and he was arrested without incident. Sproule was not located until Tuesday, November 21, 2017, during a traffic stop, where he too was taken into custody. Both were booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Bautistalares was released on bail on November 18, 2017, and Sproule has also since been released on bail.
