VICTORVILLE – Four were arrested for assault and other charges on Monday evening following a brief scuffle with arresting deputies.
At around 6:00 p.m. police responded to the 16200 block of Cahuenga Road reference three male subjects assaulting a 25-year-old man.
Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with four subjects; three male and one female.
When deputies attempted to detain the woman, later identified as 25-year-old Victorville resident, Patricia Kavathas she resisted. This caused two of the male suspects, identified as 26-year-old Victorville resident, Adrian Amesquita, and 30-year-old Hesperia Resident Andrew Delgado to begin verbally and physically attempting to stop the deputies from detaining her.
The third suspect, 34-year-old Hesperia resident, Jorge Alpuche did not partake in this part of the incident. The deputies were able to gain control of the situation, taking them all into custody. Victorville Sheriff’s station Spokeswoman. Mara Rodriguez said the suspects were booked into the High Desert Detention Center for the following charges:
Amesquita-Battery with Serious Bodily Injury, Lynching, Obstructing/Resisting an Officer, also booked for Violation of Parole
Delgado– Battery with Serious Bodily Injury, Lynching, Obstructing/Resisting an Officer, also booked for Violation of Parole
Alpuche– Battery with Serious Bodily Injury, Accessory
Kavathas-Lynching, Obstructing/Resisting an Officer
Amesquita, Delgado, and Alpuche are all being held in lieu of $100,00 bail. No court records were available for Kavathas as of Wednesday afternoon.
“The “lynching” charge is in regards to the suspects attempting to keep the deputies from detaining/taking the female into lawful custody by means of a riot,” added Rodriguez. “There was no “hanging” involved in this call.”
The victim declined any medical assistance or transport.
