Two Sustain Major Injuries & Gunman Dead after Chula Vista Costco Shooting

CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Two people were critically injured and one is deceased after a shooting in the Costco parking lot in Chula Vista on Monday afternoon.

Police responded to multiple calls reporting the shooting at the Costco located at 1130 Broadway in Chula Vista. The shooter was later learned to be the ex-boyfriend of the female who was at Costco shopping with a male and her infant child who was in a stroller. The suspect walked up from behind the male and female as they were loading their items into the car, authorities said.  He then began firing at the couple. The woman’s infant child was not injured as a result of the shooting, but the male and female are suffering from serious injuries.

The suspect shot himself following the shooting. The name of the suspect has not yet been released at this time. The motive is being investigated by authorities at this time.
