VICTORVILLE – A Victorville man was arrested for the murder of his mother, also a Victorville resident on Saturday morning. The initial call at around 11:10 a.m. reported that a man and a woman were found deceased in a home. The reporting party told authorities that “Jonathan” was the suspect, but he did not know his last name.
When deputies from the Victorville station arrived in the 11700 block of Cliffwood Street near Mesa View in the City of Victorville they found a single victim, identified as Ruth Delacruz Castellon, 57, deceased inside of the home. Jonathan Moises Castellon, 35, was located in the backyard with blood on his feet and his clothing. Jonathan Castellon was detained and interviewed at the Victorville Police Department.
Homicide Detectives arrived at the scene to conduct and investigation. During the investigation, they learned that the victim Ruth Castellon, the mother and suspect Jonathan Castellon, the son lived in the home. The investigation also led authorities to the determination that Jonathan Castellon was responsible for Rith Castellon’s death. Jonathan Castellon was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for murder. He is being held without bail and is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Tuesday morning.
