EASTVALE – A 28-year-old Eastvale woman lost her life as a result of a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision on Tuesday evening. Authorities said that at around 7:44 p.m. Janine Chavez was walking in the area of Hamner Avenue south of Amberhill. A Honda Accord, driven by a 51-year-old Ontario man was driving south on Hamner Avenue when he struck Chavez.
Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene. Chavez was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Anyone with information about this collision is urged to contact Deputy Shamhart at the Jurupa Valley Station Eastvale Traffic Division (951) 955-2600.
