Victor Valley Deputies Assist in Getting Abducted Child Safely Home
VICTORVILLE – A father took his 8-year-old son from his mother after threatening his and the child’s safety on Saturday, June 23, 2018.
At around 5:05 p.m. Victor Valley Station deputies received the request to assist the Redlands Police Department in locating the father, Brandon Emerson, 35, of Victorville. Redlands Police informed the Victor Valley Station that Emerson was likely on his way to his home in the 9500 block of Mono Road in Victorville with his son. Patrol deputies, along with sheriff’s aviation responded to the home and set up a perimeter around Emerson’s home. “Emerson came outside and was walking around his yard with his son when he was taken into custody without incident. Emerson was not armed at the time of arrest and the child had not been harmed,” said Victor Valley Sheriff’s officials.
A search warrant for Emerson’s home was obtained and during the search deputies located firearms, multiple vials of anabolic steroids, liquid steroids, a large amount of U.S. currency, narcotics paraphernalia, and packaging items consistent with the sale of narcotics. Based on the evidence found within the home, investigators believe that Emerson was manufacturing and distributing the controlled substance. Emerson was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Possession of a Controlled Substance for sales. The Redlands Police Department will be handing the child abduction portion of the investigation. Meanwhile, Emerson is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. The child was returned to his mother.
