RANCHO CUCAMONGA – Two men, one from Victorville and the second from Moreno Valley were arrested following the investigation into a February 2, 2018, robbery in Rancho Cucamonga.
At around 11:00 p.m. on February 2nd, authorities responded to an alarm at the Salon 360, located in the 9200 block of Archibald Avenue. When they arrived they learned that the robbery had just occurred. The witnesses reported that two black men entered the store with firearms, forced a victim to their vehicle and stole an undisclosed but “significant” amount of money from inside the vehicle. In addition, the suspects stole a cell phone then forced the victims into the bathroom before fleeing the scene.
Deputies were able to locate the stole cell phone in a Victorville trash can at a gas station. Through further investigation, suspect leads were developed and February 9, 2018, detectives were able to review the surveillance footage at the gas station. In the video, detectives viewed a black man who matched the description of one of the two robbery suspects. The suspect was identified as Chad Harris, 36, of Moreno Valley. During the search of Harris’ person, a loaded handgun was recovered from his pants. Harris was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for; Kidnapping, Carrying a Concealed Stolen Weapon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon by a Convicted Felon and Carrying a Loaded Handgun, not the owner. He is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
The second suspect was identified as Dwayne Williams, 35, of Victorville, which led to an arrest warrant. On Thursday, February 15, 2018, Williams was taken into custody outside of his home in the 11700 block of Fern Pine Street in the City of Victorville. A search warrant was served at his home where clothing worn during the robbery, handgun magazine, and loose ammunition. Williams was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for Robbery and Kidnapping, with bail of $450,000.
