VICTORVILLE, Calif. – A boy threatening to “shoot up” Columbine High School was learned to be a 14-year-old from Victorville.
Victorville Police were contacted by Jefferson County Colorado Sheriff’s Department seeking assistance in an investigation on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. Jefferson County Detectives told Victorville Police officials that they were investigating a threat to Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. After tracking the IP address for the phone used to make the threats, it was tracked to a home on Buckskin Court in the City of Victorville.
Deputies went to the home and spoke with the family who resides in the home. They learned that a 14-year-old boy that lives in the home made the call to the school, threatening to shoot up and blow up the school. They also believe that the boy may have also called the FBI headquarters to make false reports of a homicide and hostage situation. “The suspect reportedly made the calls so he could join an online gaming clan and had no intention of carrying out the threats,” Victorville Sheriff officials said in a news release.
The report will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review and consideration. No further information is available regarding the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department’s investigation or any investigation by the FBI.
Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact Deputy Z. Pritchett or Deputy M.
