VICTORVILLE – The Children and Family Services (CFS) and the Transitional Assistance Department (TAD) in the City of Victorville were placed on a temporary lockdown on Friday morning.
The lockdown was self-initiated by CFS and TAD officials at around 9:35 a.m. as a precaution when they observed police activity near the location located at 15010 Palmdale Road. The police activity was in an apartment complex in the 14300 block of Borego Road. An occupant living in the apartment complex reported seeing a man with a gun.
“The caller said a black male in his 30’s was banging at the door of the apartment and at one point showed him a handgun in his waistband,” said Victorville Sheriff’s Station Spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. Deputies searched the area near the County building, but were unable to locate the man reported to have a gun.
