VICTORVILLE – A Victorville man was arrested for injuring his elderly mother after she did not allow him to have a female visitor at his home. The incident took place on April 29, 2017, just before 6:45 p.m. in the 16200 block of La Cubre Drive in the City of Victorville.
Authorities said that Henry Alexander Paz, 44, of Victorville became enraged when his 75-year-old mother would not allow his female visitor in her home where he was staying. “Paz pushed the victim to the floor, breaking her hip and fracturing her leg,” said Victorville Sheriff’s Station spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. “He then demanded money from her and took her cell phone.”
Paz then closed his mother in her bedroom and refused to call for medical assistance. The elderly woman was able to pull herself out of her bedroom into the front of her home where she yelled out for help. Someone outside heard her calls and called 911. Deputies and emergency medical personnel arrived to assist the female victim who was transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.
A search warrant was obtained and on Sunday, May 15, 2017, the suspect was located in the 11800 block of Nehmans Way in the City of Adelanto where he was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center. Paz is being held in lieu of $300,000 bail for robbery, false imprisonment, battery with serious injury, and harm to an elder. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Saturday afternoon.
