VICTORVILLE – A 25-year-old Victorville man was arrested after being found inside a home in the 13600 block of Cobalt Road.
On Thursday, June 21, 2018, just before 5:00 p.m. deputies from the Victorville station responded to the report of a burglary in progress. “The homeowner was away when she was alerted to an alarm at her home,” said Victorville Sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. “She was able to see Casey Gomez entering the house on her home security camera feed.” Two of the victim’s neighbor also saw Gomez entering the home and went to the home to see why he was there. After making contact with Gomez at the front door of the home, the deputy arrived and detained him without incident.
Gomez was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Burglary and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. Gomez appeared at the Victorville Superior Court on Monday, June 25, 2018, via jail video. The court entered a not guilty plea on his behalf and is scheduled to return to court on Monday, July 2, 2018.
