VICTORVILLE – A Sunday night argument led to the stabbing and the arrest of a 55-year-old Victorville man.
On Sunday, June 24, 2018, at around 8:30 p.m. deputies from the Victorville station responded to the 16900 block of D Street for the report of a stabbing. When they arrived they learned that one woman and two men left a friend’s Apple Valley home and were heading to the City of Adelanto. The two men got into an argument which escalated leading to Grant Cornelious producing a knife and stabbing the other man, a 53-year-old Victorville resident. The woman pulled the vehicle over and the two men exited the vehicle and continued fighting.
Authorities said that the victim sustained numerous stab wounds and was airlifted to a trauma center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Cornelious sustained facial injuries as a result of the fight and was transported to a local hospital. Following his release from the hospital, he was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for Attempted Murder.
