VICTORVILLE – The suspect wanted for an August 10th shooting in Victorville was located and arrested in Barstow on Wednesday.
At around 9:55 p.m. deputies from the Victorville station responded to the intersection of Amargosa Road and Desert Escape for a shooting. When they arrived they located a 40-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his back. The victim told deputies that he was traveling on Amargosa Road and Desert Escape when the suspect, later identified as Raymond Espinoza, 29, of Victorville parolee, fired multiple rounds from his vehicle into the victim’s vehicle. The victim was struck by the gunfire and Espinoza fled the scene.
On Wednesday, August 23, 2017, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Specialized Enforcement Division, in the City of Barstow located Espinoza and took him into custody. He was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm, a firearm magazine, and methamphetamine. Espinoza was determined to be on felony probation for assault with a deadly weapon and was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and an outstanding warrant for violation of probation.
