VICTORVILLE – A Victorville man was arrested after assaulting an 18-year-old family member and resisting arrest.
On Saturday, January 21, 2017, at around 4:30 p.m. deputies from the Victorville station responded to the 13800 block of Decker Road for the report of a man assaulting a woman.
Deputies arrived at the scene and learned that the female victim was assaulted and the suspect identified as Cesar Garcia refused to let her leave the home when she refused to give him money. “The victim was able to escape Garcia and run to a neighbor’s house,” said Victorville Sheriff’s Station spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. “Garcia had now fled the house, through a window and was running.”
The deputies chased Garcia and Tased him, which had no effect. A deputy caught Garcia, but he continued to resist, kicking and hitting the deputy. Garcia was taken into custody shortly after when the deputy held him down until other deputies responded to assist by handcuffing and arresting him.
Garcia was medically cleared at a local hospital and subsequently booked into the High Desert Detention Center for resisting an executive officer and false imprisonment. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. The deputy sustained minor injuries, but did not require medical attention.
