SAN BERNARDINO – The investigation into the shooting death of 33-year-old Alberto Castillas led to an arrest on Thursday. Jose Enrique Gamboa, 41, was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for murder.
Police responded to the report of shots fired near 13th and F Streets at around 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2017. When they arrived they located Castillas near the north curb in the 500 block of West 13th Street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel arrived and rushed Castillas to St. Bernardine Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries as a result of the shooting.
Authorities believe the motive may have been a result of a unpaid drug transaction
