HIGHLAND – A 28-year-old Victorville man was arrested after a short pursuit in the City of Highland late Friday morning. At around 11:07 a.m. Highland station deputies identified a vehicle being driven near 9th Street and Sterling Avenue as a vehicle stolen during a carjacking in the City of Irvine. The deputy attempted to conduct a felony traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop and a pursuit ensued.
Central station deputies arrived to provide back up during the pursuit and the suspect vehicle finally stopped. Four occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody and three were released following an interview. The driver, Aspenn Jones was identified as the Irvine Police Department as the suspect in their carjacking investigation. Jones was arrested for carjacking, robbery, and felony evading.
