Victorville Man Killed in 15 Freeway Crash


PHELAN – A 34-year-old Victorville man lost his life on a 15 freeway collision early Thursday morning. Bruce Bennett Tillman was riding a 1996 Yamaha motorcycle northbound on the 15 freeway north of State Route 138. CHP officials are unclear about what lane Tillman was riding in when he lost control. He collided with the roadway causing the rider to be ejected into the #4 lane.

The motorcycle burst into flames quickly becoming engulfed. Tillman was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries. Following the collision, the #3, #4, and #5 lanes were closed.

Tillman was from the City of Pomona and attended Pomona High School. He then moved to the Victor Valley and attend Victor Valley College. Tillman who was highly active in his church and married his wife Jaquise on June 1, 2007. “To the love of my life, my heart, my soul mate, my big daddy, words cannot describe the pain I am feeling,” Jaquise Tillman wrote in a Facebook post. “I am sitting here reflecting on the memories we shared together and all I can do is cry. It hurt so bad baby, you are gone.  Why???? I just want to hug and kiss you and tell you how much I love you.”

Jaquise Tillman started a Go Fund Me account to raise funds for the cost of her husband’s memorial and burial.
