VICTORVILLE, Calif. – The man who died in a traffic collision on the afternoon of Monday, May 13, 2019, has been identified.
Howard Timpke, 83, of Victorville, lost his life while driving his Honda sedan southbound on Amargosa Road. Timpke entered the intersection on a green light, and a driver in a Ford SUV entered the intersection apparently, according to witnesses, continuing through the intersection but suddenly turned left.
When the driver turned left, he went into the path of the Honda causing the vehicles to collide. Both drivers were rushed to a local hospital, Timpke suffering from life-threatening injuries and the driver of the Ford, as a precaution.
Timpke was pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later.
