VICTORVILLE – A man suffered from a gunshot wound moments after opening the door to his home after hearing a knock on Monday night authorities said.
At around 8:12 p.m. deputies from the Victorville Station and emergency medical personnel responded to the home in the 12800 block of Pacoima Road for the report of a gunshot wound victim. According to the victim, he opened the door after hearing a knock and opened the door to see, through the screen door, who was knocking. He did not see anyone, but when he began to close the door, he heard shots fired. He realized that he was stuck on his lower leg area and called 911.
He was treated at the scene, then transported to the hospital for treatment of his injury. The suspect(s) remain unidentified.
