Victorville Murder Suspect Behind Bars

VICTORVILLE – The man responsible for the shooting death of 43-year-old Apple Valley resident Roman Robert Clemente was arrested on Tuesday evening. The suspect,  Austin James Lembcke was arrested at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Headquarters located at 655 E. 3rd Street in the City of San Bernardino.

On Sunday, February 19, 2017, deputies responded to the report of shots fired and a man down in the 13800 block of Victoria Drive in the City of Victorville. When the arrived they found Clemente lying on the road in front of a home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Clemente was pronounced dead at the scene. Homicide investigators spent the remainder of the night and day conducting an investigation.

The investigation led Homicide Investigators to identify Lembcke as the suspect and an arrest warrant for murder was issued. Homicide Investigators released a photo of Lembcke on Monday, February 20, 2017, in hopes that the public could help to locate him.

Details surrounding the arrest are limited as of Tuesday night. Lembcke was booked into the Central Detention Center and is being held without bail. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Thursday afternoon.  No further information is available at this time, but information will be updated as it is received.

UPDATE:  February 22, 2017, According to Sheriff officials, on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at around 4:00 p.m., suspected murderer of Roman Robert Clemente, Austin Lembcke turned himself into investigators at the Sheriff’s Headquarters. There he was arrested and booked for Murder Charges.  Lembcke is scheduled to appear in court on February 23rd in Victorville.
