VICTORVILLE – Family and friends are mourning the loss of 50-year-old Chet Govan also known by his nickname, “Short Dogg” of Victorville.
On Saturday, April 29, 2017, at around 1:25 p.m. deputies from the Victorville station and emergency medical personnel responded to a single-vehicle motorcycle collision. When they arrived they found Los Angeles native, Chet Govan lying unconscious in the roadway.
Authorities said that Govan was riding his Black Honda CBR 1000 motorcycle on Amargosa Road. He was traveling Northbound near the east side of the Victor Valley Mall parking lot when for reasons that remain under investigation, he lost control and was ejected from his motorcycle.
Govan struck the guardrail and sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. He was transported by ground ambulance to Desert Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room at 2:25 p.m.
