VICTORVILLE – A 34-year-old Victorville transient was arrested after spraying the employee of a 7-Eleven store with pepper spray on Monday night. At around 8:53 p.m., the employee of the 7-Eleven store located at 14595 Seventh Street in the City of Victorville had an issue with a male transient at the location. He attempted to escort the man from the store, when the woman, identified as April Walter, ran toward the employee.
“A verbal argument began between Walter and the employee,” said Victorville Sheriff’s Station spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. “The employee began to walk away from Walter and she sprayed him with pepper spray.” When deputies arrived at the scene, Walter was still at the location and was found to have pepper spray in her possession. Walter was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Assault with a Caustic Chemical. The employee declined medical transport.
Walter is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Wednesday afternoon for her arraignment hearing. Meanwhile she is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
