VICTORVILLE – A severely mentally disabled woman was removed from a home after drugs and weapons were located in the room she resides in.
On Friday, November 2, 2018, at around 11:36 a.m. deputies served a search warrant at the home of 47-year-old Carol Renee Stewart shared with her 20-year-old disabled daughter in the 12800 block of Stagecoach Drive. While searching, deputies located suspected methamphetamine and marijuana. In addition, drug paraphernalia, a handgun, ammunition, a dagger, machete and cash were found at the home. Stewart, a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition.
The disabled woman was taken into custody by the Department of Family Services. Stewart was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for possession of a controlled substance. The case was forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office where it will be reviewed, and additional charges will be considered. Stewart was released on bail at 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018, according to court records/
