VICTORVILLE, Calif. – A Victorville woman was arrested for the abuse after her boyfriend was pronounced dead in their apartment on Thursday.
On Thursday, February 21, 2019, at around 2:49 p.m. emergency medical personnel was dispatched to the Mountain Vista Apartment complex for the report of an unresponsive 80-year-old man.
Deputies from the Victorville station and medical aid arrived to the complex located at 15450 Nisqualli Road and located the victim, identified as John Tucker in the bathroom. Tucker was pronounced deceased. Medical personnel, as well as deputies, noticed injuries on the victim and requested a response from homicide detectives for further investigation. Detectives arrived and began conducting the investigation, learning that Patricia Jones, 62, was the victim’s girlfriend and full-time caregiver. Jones was also the only person caring for Mr. Tucket in recent weeks.
After further investigation, including evidence collection and interviews, Jones was arrested for Elder Abuse. She was booked at the West Valley Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. She is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. The San Bernardino County Coroner’s office took possession of Mr. Jones’ body and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
