LOS ANGELES – The 34-year-old Victorville woman who swindled an elderly man out of $200,000 was sentenced to eight years in prison on Thursday.
Shirley Chrissy Urick was found guilty of three counts of theft from an elder last month for taking advantage of a kind-hearted 78-year-old man who she met in a grocery store parking lot in July 2013.
Prosecutors said that Urick told him that her name was Gina Lee and over the next 16 months she lied to him telling him she needed money and would pay him back
The elderly man loaned Urick tens of thousands of dollars and paid for some of her living expenses. Her scam finally landed her behind bars in January 2016.
