Grocery delivery and grocery pickup has become increasingly popular in recent years. Those disabled or even those who just lead busy lives are able to order from home and simply pull up to the store and have the groceries loaded in your vehicle for you. This has been available for years, but for those with lower incomes who receive EBT benefits, this was not an option. Of course, many EBT households include disabled family members or multiple children so this option would be helpful.
In September 2017, the EBT option began in certain cities including Houston, Texas and Boise, Idaho. Other cities eagerly waited, with those who did not use EBT for food purchases enjoying the benefits and even receiving discounts for their first time ordering.
On Tuesday, June 25, 2019, Walmart announced the EBT option to most California customers, including those in the Victor Valley area. The best part is the payment can be split between EBT and another payment method if necessary. For those that want to try the service, Walmart is offering $10 off of your first order of $50 or more with coupon code WOWFRESH until September 30, 2019.
