VICTORVILLE – A 19-year-old Adelanto woman was arrested for assault after charging at an off-duty Correctional Officer with sticks last week.
On Monday, December 12, 2016, at around 6:55 p.m. the correctional officer was driving eastbound on Palmdale Road near Pacoima Road when he noticed Duckett in the road swinging two large sticks. “He was able to swerve, to avoid hitting her, but she still managed to strike his vehicle with the sticks,” said Victorville Sheriff’s Station spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. “He got out of his vehicle and she charged at him with the sticks, trying to hit him.”
The Correctional Officer was able detained the woman, later identified as Precious Marvette Duckett. Duckett was transported to Victor Valley Global Medical Center for evaluation. When Duckett was released at approximately 10:50 p.m. she was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon. She is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Duckett is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Thursday, January 12, 2016.
