RIVERSIDE – A 33-year-old woman was arrested after attempting to cash a forged check at a Riverside bank on Wednesday. At around 11:23 a.m. bank employees called to report the incident. Police including aerial support (Air-1) responded to the location to find the woman leaving in a black Jeep.
Ground units received information that helped them locate the suspect and conduct a traffic stop. Authorities learned that the female suspect attempted to pass the forged check with false identification. The suspect, later identified as Erica Spigell from Escondido was arrested and booked into jail for probation violations, identity theft, forgery, and possession of a controlled substance.
