LAKE ELSINORE – One woman was arrested and a second remains unidentified following the theft at a Lake Elsinore Target store authorities said.
On Thursday, September 21, 2017, at around 8:01 p.m., officers from the Lake Elsinore Police Department responded to the robbery in the 18000 block of Collier Avenue in the City of Lake Elsinore. The reporting party said that a White woman was observed placing items from the store inside a bag. Loss prevention officers continued to watch the woman who continued before leaving the store without paying for the items. Loss prevention officers approached the woman and attempted to detain her.
The suspect, identified as Jennifer Ashley Shipman, 34, of Mariposa, California fought the officers but was subsequently arrested. Shipman’s female accomplice picked up the bag and fled on foot during the altercation.
No one was injured as a result of the incident. Shipman was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta for robbery. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Deputy Beaudet of the Lake Elsinore Police Department at (951) 245-3300.
