VICTORVILLE – The 35-year-old woman who died after being brutally beaten and run over by her boyfriend in the Hook Park parking lot has been identified by Sheriff officials.
Rosa Tejada, 35, a Victorville woman was allegedly murdered by Walter Gonzalez Maravilla, a 25-year-old transient. On Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at around 8:26 p.m. deputies from the Victorville station responded to the southwest parking lot at Hook Park. The reporting party told dispatchers that the man was beating the woman, later identified as Tejada. It was reported that he slammed her head into the sidewalk, kicked her, and when she appeared to be unconscious, he ran her over.
Maravilla then attempted to flee the scene in Tejada’s vehicle. He was stopped by responding deputies and taken into custody without incident. Tejada was found to have major head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Maravilla was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Murder and is being held without bail. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Friday morning.
