LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A woman is facing up to 10 years in prison after crashing into the LAPD Harbor police station with her 2-month old child in the vehicle.
The incident occurred on February 9, 2019, Denise Betancourt, 29, crashed into a vehicle and fled the scene near the 110 Freeway and Anaheim Street. Following the hit and run collision, Betancourt crashed into the police station and opened her driver door. As the officer approached the vehicle and ordered Betancourt to exit, she accelerated her car backward, causing the officer to jump out of the way.
Betancourt was eventually taken into custody but injured the arresting officer. She now faces
Betancourt pleaded not guilty to all charges and is due back in court on March 6, 2019.
