RUNNING SPRINGS – A 29-year-old woman went to move her truck from the street to her driveway at around midnight on Saturday. The woman walked from her home in the 30800 block of All View Drive in Running Springs to her truck, when she opened the driver’s side door to get inside, she was punched by a man, later identified as 26-year-old Daniel Condie, 26, of Running Springs who was inside of the truck with another unknown male suspect. The blow to her face caused injuries to her teeth, gums, and lips.
After striking the woman, Condie jumped from the truck toward Live Oak Drive. The woman’s key was in the ignition of the truck, but her battery was dead so she could not leave in the vehicle. While running from the scene, Condie dropped some car keys, a garage door opener, and a beanie. Through investigation, it was learned that the keys that he dropped belonged to another victim. The second man in the vehicle described as a younger light-skinned Hispanic male with a rounder face ran the opposite direction toward All View Drive.
The husband of the victim ran outside when he heard his wife scream. When he went outside he saw Condie running down the street so he followed him to the end of the black on All View and Live Oak Drives. He confronted Condie but not knowing why Condie ran, he returned to his home. When he returned he noticed that his wife had been assaulted. Deputies arrived at the home and located Condie inside a nearby home on the corner of All View Drive and Live Oak Drive. He was positively identified as the suspect by both witnesses and the victim. He was arrested for assault causing significant injuries and attempted vehicle theft. He is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail. The second suspect remains at large.
